Mission Trip ~ Day 4
Thursday, June 21
Things were more than a little hectic yesterday.
We started at 6am again and pushed through
so that all the big stuff was finished before the "big guys" headed back to Toledo.
It is hard for me to imagine what we have accomplished in short amount of time
but I know that this dream would never have come to completion
with out the help and the skill of our men folk.
I mean - we built a new communion table and pulpit in the morning while we finished the benches -
I really think of them as pews - while spreading 7 ton of gravel!
It looks wonderful. The "young people" decided to
fashion a cross out of the old wood and together -
young and not so young - put it in place.
The new cross has been fashioned out of the old wood
thereby combining what was with what is.
I think there is a sermon in there somewhere.
You will want to be in church on Sunday to hear
how I work that through and to welcome the 16 home!
Time to get to the work site.
Thanks Barb for posting the new photos.
We will try to show them all during worship.
Continue to take care of one another
and continue to pray for one another and for our church.
Think of us tonight as we celebrate communion
gathered around the new table we have built
and know that we will be thinking of you
and giving God thanks for all of your support.
Blessings, Rev. Pat
