A Post card from Kirkmont
Evening June 19 ~ Day 2
A post card from Kirkmont...
We are slowly but surely gathering by the pond at the end of our second full day.
The kids have just finished their nightly swim.
Everyone else has showered to rid ourselves of the
dirt and dust of this very long work day.
We will spend a little time reflecting on today's experiences
as we once again read Psalm 122
and wonder about just where and when
we have experienced gladness in the house of the Lord this day.
It has been quite a day.
As I shared earlier we did start at sunrise and worked really hard.
We did have one mishap with a saw but we still all have all of our fingers and toes.
Jim did end up in the emergency room for a bit
but was sick in time to have supper with us
and he even worked a few hours more after supper.
He is okay thank heavens.
We did get a lot done again today.
More of the benches are completed;
the ramp and the worship platform are completed;
many of the picnic tables are freshly stained
and about half of the 7 tons of gravel we need to spread has been spread.
We are tired and blistered and more than a little sore
but we are feeling satisfied with all we have accomplished.
Because some of the men folk will need to leave tomorrow early afternoon,
we will rise with the sun again in the morning
and work for two hours before breakfast.
We have still a few benches to rebuild and then the pulpit
and communion table to create.
And there is the rest of the gravel..... Oh my!
Please continue to lift us in pray.
Print and share the postcards with those you know do not have the Internet
and please continue to take good care of each other while we are away.
We miss you and just love all the ways you support us.
Blessings, Rev. Pat and the 2012 Mission Trip participants!
PS - it is now one hour later and vespers are finished.
I was amazed at how quiet everyone was.
As we went to do our closing popcorn prayers of petition tonight
no one said anything.
Either we are all really satisfied feeling that God has given us everything we need
or we are all really, really tired.
Maybe it is a tofu of both.
Good night.
