Mission Trip at Kirkmont ~ June 17 - June 22
Mission Trip 2012 ~ Day 1
A postcard from Kirkmont
and the mission workers…
First day of the 2012 mission trip to Kirkmont has been completed
without hitch.
Despite the heat and the humidity we have completely dismantled this wonderful outside worship space
and have even rebuilt
one fourth of the new seating.
The guys have been working on the new platform while
we have done the rest.
There are lots of saws and hammers and drills and crowbars being put to use - oh my!
We are now on our way to the pool for swell deserved swim and then some late night vespers.
God is good - all the time -
God is good.

We have completed our first day of work. The trip from Toledo to Zanesfield went very well.
We arrived around 7pm having stop for a bit of ice cream in Dunkirk on the way. Most of the boys <grin> decided to sleep outside in a Cabernet
which meant the older "boys" had a room all to the, selves.
Everyone turned in fairly early after consuming more than a few pizzas
and playing more than a few games.
Today was warm and humid but we did get done more than we had thought we would. All the old benches have been removed and about one quarter of the new seating is in place. Dan and John worked hard on the new platform which is where the new pulpit and communion table will sit.The hardest work was digging the trenches where the new ramp will go so that equipment and physically challenged folks can make it up unto the platform to lead worship.
We have finished a supper of fried chicken and all the trimmings
and everyone is headed to the pool for a 90 minute swim. After that we will go back to our work and worship space for vespers, reflection and a toasted marshmallow or two.
All is going wonderfully well and we are pleased with the progress.
Thank you for your support and your continuing prayers.Tomorrow will be even warmer and even longer so keep those prayers a coming please.
I will try to send the first of the pictures but you know that I don't do that well.
Blessings, Rev. Pat
